New Hampstead has been on the road for seven straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will welcome the Islands Sharks at 5:00 p.m. Islands took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on New Hampstead, who comes in off a win.
Last Thursday, New Hampstead sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Wayne County.
New Hampstead was actually outscored in aggregate across those three sets (56-54), but they still managed to win. The match finished with set scores of 14-25, 25-18, 15-13.
Meanwhile, Islands was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hilton Head Island.
While Islands had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 15 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-19.
New Hampstead's win bumped their record up to 15-11. As for Islands, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-15.
