Basketball Recap: St. John's Comes Up Short

St. John was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 55-45 to the New Knoxville Rangers. The Bluejays were probably out for revenge after losing 47-42 to them when the teams met back in December of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Addi Albers was the offensive standout of the matchup as she went 5 of 10 en route to 18 points and seven boards. That's the most points she has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Paige Webb, who posted 11 points.

St. John's loss dropped their record down to 0-14. As for New Knoxville, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 3-10.

St. John's is taking a road trip to square off against Marion Local at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. Marion Local will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something St. John's surely won't give up without a fight. As for New Knoxville, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-49 defeat against Celina on the 11th.
