Softball Recap: Arlington Drops Highest Score of Season Against Suffern

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Arlington). Everything went their way against the Suffern Mounties on Thursday as they made off with a 16-4 win. The Admirals not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 29, 2024 (when they won 14-1).

Sam Harris was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Arlington got a massive performance out of Ava Eraca, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave Eraca a new career-high. Sophia Liguori was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Arlington kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory made it two in a row for Arlington and bumps their season record up to 5-7. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Suffern, their defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arlington will welcome Yorktown at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Suffern, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Clarkstown North at 4:30 p.m.
