Excelsior Classical Academy won the last time they faced The Hawbridge School and Tyler Hill did his part to make sure it happened again. The Flying Lions simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat the Herons 85-49 with plenty of help from Hill, who dropped a double-double with 29 points and 15 rebounds. The contest was his fifth in a row with at least 16 points.

Another player making a difference was AJ Gray, who posted 11 points along with eight boards and three steals. Gray is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

When it comes to explaining why The Hawbridge School lost, don't look at Noah Snyder. Despite the final result, he had 26 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lorca Gillis-Alonso, who earned six points.

The win (which was Excelsior Classical Academy's fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.5 points over those games. As for The Hawbridge School, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Excelsior Classical Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Southern Wake Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Flying Lions will be up against the Lions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 60.33 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for The Hawbridge School, they will challenge Durham Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
