Football Recap: Castle Knights vs. Evansville North Huskies

Castle unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 33-22 to the Evansville North Huskies on Friday. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Huskies apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed 14 in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Ben Quach, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Evansville North's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayden Jones, who rushed for 74 yards and one score, and also threw for 70 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 83.3% of his passes. Quaithan Pauley was another key back, gaining 90 total yards and a touchdown.

Castle wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 31-28 win against Evansville Mater Dei on the 29th. As for Evansville North, they have also already played their next matchup, a 21-0 defeat against Evansville Memorial on the 29th.
