Football Game Preview: Coahoma County Red Panthers vs. North Panola Cougars + How To Watch

Coahoma County is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Friday. They will welcome the North Panola Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Coahoma County is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

On Friday, Coahoma County came up short against Leflore County and fell 22-12.

Although Coahoma County took the loss, they still got scores from Kendarious Sims and Jamarrius Johnson.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Panola). In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 39-38 win over West Tallahatchie. Things were looking grim for the Cougars in the second quarter (they were down by 26) but they stormed back to get the matchup.

A big part of North Panola's victory came down to the chemistry between Keemauri Waldrup and his top target Marco Goings. Waldrup threw for 343 yards and four TDs while picking up 12.3 yards per attempt while Goings picked up 129 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

The win got North Panola back to even at 3-3. As for Coahoma County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Coahoma County strolled past North Panola in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a score of 30-12. Do the Red Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
