Tunkhannock put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Crestwood Comets with a sharp 16-8 win. The Tigers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

McKenzie Hannon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and five unearned) runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, Tunkhannock got a massive performance out of Taryn Newswanger, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. That stolen base was Newswanger's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Erin Van Ness, who went 3-for-5 with six RBI, one run, and one double.

Tunkhannock lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Tunkhannock pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Crestwood, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.

Tunkhannock will challenge Wilkes-Barre at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Crestwood, they will venture away from home to face off against Wyoming Valley West at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Comets are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
