Meade piles up the points against Ashland

Recap: Meade Buffaloes vs. Ashland Blue Jays

Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up nine more assists than your opponent, a fact the Meade Buffaloes proved on Friday. They breezed by Ashland on the road to the tune of 62-33. That's another feather in the cap for Meade, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Meade was led to victory by Carlie Martin and Dallas Sherman. Martin scored 13 points along with five assists and five rebounds, while Sherman almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. Martin is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played. Charity Powell was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Lily McPhail and Biannca Ceniceros certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. McPhail scored eight points along with seven rebounds and two blocks, while Ceniceros scored 11 points.

Meade's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Ashland, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.

Meade will be playing in front of their home fans against Minneola at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meade is facing Minneola at the right time seeing as Minneola is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Ashland, they will head out on the road to face off against Bucklin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bucklin will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Ashland surely won't give up without a fight.
