Basketball Recap: Alexis Beswetherick Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Bishop Mclaughlin Catholic

Indian Rocks Christian won the last time they faced Bishop McLaughlin Catholic and things went their way on Thursday too. The Indian Rocks Christian Eagles blew past the Bishop McLaughlin Catholic Hurricanes 39-19. The win was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Indian Rocks Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alexis Beswetherick, who went 5 for 9 en route to 13 points. Those 13 points gave Beswetherick a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kayleigh Atkinson, who posted nine points.

Despite the defeat, Bishop McLaughlin Catholic saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Marley Weaver scored nine points and five boards. Weaver has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played.

Indian Rocks Christian's record now sits at 11-13. As for Bishop McLaughlin Catholic, with the loss, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-5.
