Baseball Recap: Kirk Academy Takes a Loss

Kirk Academy fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against North Delta on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Green Wave by a score of 7-6. The Raiders just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.

Anthony Carollo and Landon Rice did some serious damage despite the final result: Carollo scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-4, while Rice scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Kirk Academy is 2-1 when Carollo posts two or more runs, but 4-5 otherwise.

Kirk Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for North Delta, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

While Kirk Academy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
