Softball Game Preview: Clear Falls Knights vs. Clear Springs Chargers

Clear Falls is 0-10 against Clear Springs since March of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. The Knights will head out on the road to challenge the Chargers at 6:30 p.m. Clear Falls has given up an average of 7.4 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Friday just wasn't the day for Clear Falls' offense. They came up short against Clear Creek on Friday, falling 18-0. The Knights' loss continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, Clear Springs made sure to put some runs up on the board against Brazoswood on Friday. The Chargers blew past the Buccaneers 14-7. The result was nothing new for the Chargers, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Clear Springs got a massive performance out of Makenzie Thomas, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Thomas continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brynley Colianni, who scored two runs while going 3-for-5.

Clear Springs pushed their record up to 14-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Clear Falls, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-15.

Clear Falls might still be hurting after the 17-3 loss they got from Clear Springs when the teams last played back in March. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
