Softball Game Preview: Queen Creek Bulldogs vs. Higley Knights

Queen Creek is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will host the Higley Knights at 3:45 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Queen Creek is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: Basha, who was ranked eighth at the time (Queen Creek was ranked 13th). Queen Creek came up short against Basha on Saturday, falling 12-1. The matchup marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Kayla Porter was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Higley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 11-5 to Hamilton.

Taylor Lee and Ella Babcock did some serious damage despite the final result: Lee went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI, while Babcock scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Higley's loss dropped their record down to 5-10-1. As for Queen Creek, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-5.

Everything went Queen Creek's way against Higley in their previous meeting back in April of 2015, as Queen Creek made off with a 12-3 win. Will Queen Creek repeat their success, or does Higley has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
