Volleyball Recap: Lucas Cubs vs. Mansfield Christian Flames
Lucas was the 3-0 winner over Mansfield Christian when they last played one another on September 5th, but their luck changed this time around. The Lucas Cubs fell 3-1 to the Mansfield Christian Flames on Tuesday. The Cubs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
While Lucas had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 22-25, 25-19, 25-19.
Mansfield Christian found their leader in underclassman Nora Cook, who had 12 digs and two aces. Those 12 digs set a new season-high mark for Cook.
Lucas' loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Mansfield Christian, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-7.
Lucas will host Shelby at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Mansfield Christian, they are taking a road trip to challenge Crestline at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
