Mashpee is 9-1 against Rockland since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Falcons will face off against the Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Monday.
Mashpee will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Friday, then bounced right back against Nantucket on Saturday. The Falcons blew past the Whalers 15-5. That ten run margin sets a new team best for the Falcons this season.
Kameron DaLomba looked comfortable as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Mashpee got a massive performance out of Michael McGrail, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. McGrail has become a key player for the Falcons: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-6 otherwise. Jason Merkman was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Mashpee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Rockland got the win against Carver on Thursday by a conclusive 9-3.
Hayden Hatch spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Austin Daly was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Colin McKenna also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Rockland is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Mashpee, their record now sits at 5-6.
Mashpee came out on top in a nail-biter against Rockland in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
