Baseball Recap: Chester County Eagles vs. South Gibson Hornets

There's no place like home for Chester County, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the South Gibson Hornets 6-4. This was a revenge match for Chester County, as the team was forced to settle for a 5-3 loss when these two played last Thursday.

Jaden Weaver tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive pitching appearances.

At the plate, Hunter McLemore was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Schippers, who went 1-for-3 with a triple and two RBI.

On South Gibson's side, Jackson Williams made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Gage Nesbitt, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Chester County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 21 games, which provided a nice bump to their 24-5 record this season. As for South Gibson, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-8.
