Baseball Recap: Gaylesville Comes Up Short

Gaylesville and South Lamar squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Gaylesville had to settle for second. They lost 7-1 to the Stallions. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Trojans couldn't push the score so high this time.

Gaylesville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Baty, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Gaylesville has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for South Lamar, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-11.

While Gaylesville had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
