Beloit extended their winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Eli Johnson. The Beloit Trojans rang in the new year with a 70-58 win over the Lyons Lions on Friday thanks in part to Johnson, who went 11 for 16 on his way to 26 points and seven rebounds. The game was his ninth in a row with at least ten points.
The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Litton, who posted 11 points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.
Lyons lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Tegan Link, who went 7 of 10 on his way to 17 points and five rebounds. Deacon Showalter was another key player, putting up ten points along with eight boards and seven assists.
Beloit pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Lyons, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
