Basketball Recap: Conestoga Takes a Loss

Conestoga was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 70-32 loss at the hands of Logan View/Scribner-Snyder. The Cougars were not able to make up for their loss to Logan View/Scribner-Snyder from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Conestoga's loss came despite strong showings from Davida Garrett and Ayla Garrett. Davida posted 14 points along with seven boards and four steals, while Ayla had nine points and three steals. Ayla is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games she's played dating back to last season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Logan View/Scribner-Snyder to victory, but perhaps none more so than Neveah Vacha, who scored 22 points in addition to seven assists and six rebounds. Those 22 points gave Vacha a new career-high. Jayde Kreifels was another key player, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten boards.

Conestoga's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Logan View/Scribner-Snyder, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Conestoga will face off against Elmwood-Murdock at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Logan View/Scribner-Snyder has already played their next game (against North Bend Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
