Football Recap: Morrison Victorious

After only 12 points in their last match, Morrison made sure to put some points up on the board against Regent Prep on Friday. The Wildcats put the hurt on Regent Prep with a sharp 43-21 victory. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Wildcats' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Several Regent Prep players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brody Smith, who threw for 334 yards and one touchdown, and also punched in a pair of scores on the ground. 159 of Smith's passing yards were hauled in by Freddy Calvani.

Morrison's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Regent Prep, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Morrison will square off against Pawnee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will need to watch out since the Black Bears have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Regent Prep, they will take on Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The game will give Regent Prep their first taste of in-conference action this season.
