Volleyball Recap: Warren Warriors vs. Pieper Warriors
Warren saw some tournament action on Friday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pieper. Warren has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Valeria Ceballos paced Warren's offense, picking up five kills. Ceballos got some help from Gabby Davila and her ten assists. Finally, Ceballos was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.
Pieper's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cayleigh Monson, who had 15 digs. That's the most digs Monson has posted over her last 14 matchups. Cameron Kilpatrick also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.
Warren's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Pieper, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.
Warren has already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against United South on the 23rd. As for Pieper, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Churchill on the 23rd.
