Baseball Recap: Bardstown Takes a Loss

Bardstown had lost six straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 4-10 to make it seven. They came up short against the Marion County Knights, falling 16-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 10-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

As for Marion County, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games.

For Marion County's part, they got a massive performance out of Xavier Hayden, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. Hayden is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Landon Craig was another key player, going 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Looking ahead, Bardstown will challenge Lincoln County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Marion County, they will venture away from home to challenge Fort Knox at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
