After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mountain View, Half Moon Bay was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the University Red Devils a 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won six matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Kylie King was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
