Basketball Recap: Cahokia Comanches vs. Mt. Vernon Rams
Cahokia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost to the Mt. Vernon Rams at home by a 61-43 margin. While losing is never fun, the Comanches can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 249th, while the Rams are ranked 65th).

Cahokia's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cornelius Griffin, who posted 13 points. Griffin is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games he's played. Donta Cary was another key player, putting up seven points and five assists.
