Coronado is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Shadow Ridge, who was ranked second at the time (Coronado was ranked 11th). The Cougars were the clear victors by a 14-5 margin over the Mustangs on Wednesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Cougars considering their two-run performance the game before.

Aubrie Sisler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

Tsunis went 3-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and one triple, while Goldberg got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and two RBI. Those six RBI gave Tsunis a new career-high. Paisley Magdaleno was another key player, scoring four runs while going 2-for-4.

Coronado hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four strikeouts batters in six consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Arbor View). They put the hurt on Faith Lutheran with a sharp 21-1 victory on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Aggies.

Addison Cordsen looked comfortable as she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Breya Hee, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, three doubles, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Malaya Tellis, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5.

Coronado pushed their record up to 10-8 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Arbor View, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.

Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Coronado hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .367. However, it's not like Arbor View struggles in that department as they've averaged .372. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Coronado skirted past Arbor View 7-5 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Aggies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
