Softball Game Preview: Marsing Huskies vs. Vision

The Marsing Huskies will head out on the road to challenge Vision at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Last Monday, Marsing came up short against Parma and fell 7-2. The Huskies have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Brooklyn Roadenbaugh spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and six unearned) runs on three hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Marsing saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Callison, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Vision was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 26-2 to New Plymouth.

Vision's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Marsing, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.

Marsing took their victory against Vision in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 13-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Huskies since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
