Volleyball Recap: Joliet Catholic Takes a Loss

Joliet Catholic extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to nine on Friday, dropping them down to 0-8. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Deerfield Warriors. The Hilltoppers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.

As for Deerfield, their record now sits at 6-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since August 29th.

Deerfield was led to victory by Molly Trella and Rosemary Smrecek. Trella had 11 assists and seven digs, while Smrecek had ten assists and four digs. That's the most digs Smrecek has posted over her last seven matches.

Joliet Catholic didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against Buffalo Grove on the 13th. As for Deerfield, they have also already played their next contest, a 0-0 win against Prospect on the 13th.
