Basketball Game Preview: Blair Bears vs. Elkhorn Antlers

The Blair Bears will venture away from home to take on the Elkhorn Antlers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Blair will be strutting in after a victory while Elkhorn will be coming in after a defeat.

Blair is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Roncalli Catholic: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Blair blew Roncalli Catholic out of the water with a 67-39 final score. The Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 21 points or more this season.

Among those leading the charge was Kate Wulf, who posted 16 points. Another player making a difference was Addie Sullivan, who had nine points.

Meanwhile, Elkhorn came up short against Skutt Catholic on Friday, falling 66-41. While losing is never fun, the Antlers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while the SkyHawks are ranked first).

The win made it two in a row for Blair and bumps their season record up to 13-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points over those games. As for Elkhorn, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.

Blair came up short against Elkhorn when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 49-42. Can Blair avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
