Volleyball Recap: Pinecrest Comes Up Short

Pinecrest lost against Hoke County back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Patriots took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bucks. While the Patriots didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bucks 25-17 in the first set.

Pinecrest started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-22, 25-13, 27-25.

Carly Stayskal paced Pinecrest's offense, picking up 13 kills. Stayskal got some help from Callie Garrison and her 22 assists. Stayskal also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Aubrey Taylor, each putting up three.

Pinecrest's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Hoke County, their victory bumped their record up to 18-3.

Pinecrest didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Richmond Senior on the 9th. As for Hoke County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Jack Britt on the 9th.
