Baseball Recap: Spooner Beats Ashland for Their Fifth Straight Victory

Spooner had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Ashland Oredockers by a score of 5-0. The Rails have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Oredockers, too.

The team relied heavily on Shamari Fahie, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That double was his first of the season. Jarrett Meier was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Spooner's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Ashland, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-2.
