Softball Recap: Owen Valley Comes Up Short

Owen Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the Sullivan Golden Arrows, falling 15-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Patriots of the 13-5 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Addy Applegate made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Kalyn Greene, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.

Owen Valley's loss dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Sullivan, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season.

Owen Valley will take on Edgewood at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs' pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so the Patriots' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Sullivan has already played their next game (against Washington), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
