Football Game Preview: Brandeis Broncos vs. Sotomayor WILDCATS

Two dominant backs in Jaron Morris and Cameron Grady are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Brandeis Broncos will face off against the Sotomayor WILDCATS at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Brandeis made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Reagan, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Broncos fell just short of the Rattlers by a score of 20-17 on Thursday. The contest marked the Broncos' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Sotomayor's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They were dealt a 62-17 loss at the hands of Harlan. The WILDCATS were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-10.

Brandeis will have to contain Chauncey Moon as he made an impact in Sotomayor's last game. He rushed for 127 yards and two scores on only eight carries. Moon really tore up the turf during one magnificent 75-yard run. Sotomayor also got a significant boost from Haewood Anderson, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 81 yards.

Brandeis suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 7-3. As for Sotomayor, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Brandeis has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 293.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Sotomayor struggles in that department as they've been averaging 211.1 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Brandeis skirted past Sotomayor 48-46 in their previous meeting back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Broncos since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
