Football Game Preview: Voorheesville Blackbirds vs. Greenwich Witches

Voorheesville is 0-5 against Greenwich since October of 2015 but things could change on Saturday. The Blackbirds will be playing at home against the Witches at 1:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Voorheesville headed into their last game having not scored more than 13 points for three straight, but Hudson Falls let them put that streak behind them. The Blackbirds blew past the Tigers 36-8 on Saturday. The Blackbirds not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since October 12, 2024 (when they won 43-0).

Meanwhile, Greenwich strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They really took it to Stillwater for the full four quarters, racking up a 41-6 victory. Given the Witches' advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 81st, while the Warriors are ranked 214th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Voorheesville's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Greenwich, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.
