Softball Recap: Gretna Takes a Loss

Gretna lost against Altavista back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Hawks lost 11-3 to the Colonels.

Gretna saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophia Brooks, who fired off two home runs while going 3-for-4. Those home runs were Brooks' first of the season.

Gretna's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Altavista, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.

Coincidentally, Gretna and Altavista will both be playing Nelson County the next time they take the field. The Hawks will host the Governors at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Colonels will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
