The Neuse Christian Academy Lions suffered their biggest loss since November 16, 2023 on Friday. They took a serious blow against Thales Academy Apex, falling 84-54. Neuse Christian Academy has not had much luck with Thales Academy Apex recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Neuse Christian Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Aiden Graham, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and two blocks, and Josh Martin who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 16 rebounds. Martin is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Westin Tilley, who scored five points along with three steals.
It was another big night for Nathan Purvis, who scored 28 points along with nine rebounds and two steals for Thales Academy Apex. That's the first time this season that Purvis grabbed two or more steals. Luke Railo was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with two steals.
Neuse Christian Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season. As for Thales Academy Apex, their win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-18.
Neuse Christian Academy will take on Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six contests. As for Thales Academy Apex, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Thales Academy Rolesville at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Thales Academy Rolesville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Friday.
