Softball Game Preview: Pacific Grove Breakers vs. Palma Chieftains + Official Tickets

The Pacific Grove Breakers will face off against the Palma Chieftains at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Pacific Grove has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with eight straight defeats, while Palma will come in with five straight wins.

Two weeks ago, Pacific Grove came up short against Hollister and fell 9-4.

Pacific Grove saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grace Pottharst, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Another was Destiny Buckles, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Palma hadn't done well against Hollister recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Chieftains came out on top in a nail-biter against the Haybalers, sneaking past 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Chieftains have posted since February 27th.

Kiersten Jara spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

Palma's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Pacific Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11.
