Baseball Game Preview: Triad Knights vs. Cary-Grove Trojans

The Triad Knights will take on the Cary-Grove Trojans at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Triad's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Cary-Grove's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Triad heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Friday. They took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Laurence. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Knights, who until this matchup were averaging 2.58 runs allowed.

Keegan Seipp was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Meanwhile, Cary-Grove came up short against Benet Academy on Friday and fell 11-6.

Ricky Barnes made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Francis Panko, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

With the loss, Triad broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 33-7. As for Cary-Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 21-13.
