Basketball Recap: Pacific Collegiate Comes Up Short

Pacific Collegiate was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were one points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 38-37 heartbreaker at the hands of the More Knights. The Pumas were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2019.

More was led to victory by Anthony Selway and Vincenzo Selway. Anthony posted nine points and six steals, while Vincenzo put up 12 points. Those six steals gave Anthony a new career-high. Chad DeTar was another key player, putting up two points and seven rebounds.

Pacific Collegiate's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for More, they moved to 2-5 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Pacific Collegiate will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Soledad at 7:00 p.m. on January 14, 2025. As for More, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Pacific Bay Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. More is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.6 points per game this season.
