Softball Recap: Nyack Comes Up Short

Nyack lost against Pearl River back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Red Hawks lost 16-2 to the Pirates. The Red Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Nyack saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Yelina Arias, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one RBI.

The defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 6-4. As for Pearl River, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nyack will head out to square off against Nanuet at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Pearl River, they will venture away from home to challenge Ballston Spa at 11:05 a.m. on Saturday. The Pirates' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Scotties have averaged an impressive 9.7 runs per game this season.
