Volleyball Recap: St. Louis University Junior Bills vs. Vianney Golden Griffins
St. Louis University faced Vianney in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Junior Bills lost 3-0 to the Golden Griffins. The match marked the first time this season in which the Junior Bills were not able to get on the board.
St. Louis University was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Vianney work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-19, 25-23.
Jack Spowal paced St. Louis University's offense, picking up ten kills. Spowal got some help from Tanner Zippay and his 29 assists.
St. Louis University's defeat dropped their record down to 13-3. As for Vianney, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-7-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Louis University will square off against Howell Central at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Vianney, they will challenge Chaminade at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
