Volleyball Recap: Oceanside Triumphs

Oceanside hadn't done well against Escondido recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Pirates walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Cougars. This was a revenge game for the Pirates: when they faced off against the Cougars on April 7th, they had to take a 3-0 defeat.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 20-25, 25-16, 25-22.

Joshua Black paced Oceanside's offense, picking up 15 kills. Black got some help from Adam Gonzalez and his 41 assists. Finally, Kingstonjames Taufi kept Oceanside's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Oceanside now has a winning record of 14-13. As for Escondido, the loss snapped their winning streak at five matches and leaves them with a 9-14 record.
