Preview: Alleghany Cougars vs. Radford Bobcats
Alleghany is 0-10 against Radford since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Alleghany Cougars will be playing at home against the Radford Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. Alleghany will be looking to keep their nine-game home win streak alive.
On Wednesday, Alleghany didn't have too much trouble with James River on the road as they won 55-36. Given Alleghany's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while James River is ranked 394th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Radford scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They took down Patrick County 66-52.
Alleghany has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for Radford, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-7.
Alleghany and Radford were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, but Alleghany came up empty-handed after a 58-57 defeat.
