Recap: Randolph-Clay Red Devils vs. Seminole County Indians
The Randolph-Clay Red Devils fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Seminole County Indians on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 60-59 to the Indians. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Several Red Devils players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaleen Gibson, who scored 16 points along with eight assists and six rebounds. Gibson is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Nyquavious White, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Seminole County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was DJ Yarbrough out in front who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicavious Henderson, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds.
Randolph-Clay's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-6. As for Seminole County, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Randolph-Clay will square off against Calhoun County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Calhoun County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Randolph-Clay in Georgia (Calhoun County is ranked 69th, while Randolph-Clay is ranked 223rd). As for Seminole County, they will head out on the road to take on Terrell County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
