Basketball Recap: Pine River Area Bucks vs. Evart Wildcats
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Pine River Area Bucks ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Evart and snuck past 53-51. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Pine River Area also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Nathan Marks was nothing short of spectacular: he almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Eli Smith was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.
Pine River Area is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Evart, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pine River Area will take on the Rangers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Evart, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Comets at 7:00 p.m. Northern Michigan Christian is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
