Baseball Game Preview: Moorefield Yellow Jackets vs. Musselman Applemen

Moorefield is 1-7 against Musselman since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Yellow Jackets will venture away from home to challenge the Applemen at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Berkeley Springs hit Moorefield with a six-run sixth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Yellow Jackets took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indians. Yellow Jackets fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Indians since on Tuesday.

East Hardy hit Musselman with a six-run seventh inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Applemen fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 11-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Applemen have suffered since April 4th.

Ryder Ganse was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Polvinale, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

Musselman's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-14. As for Moorefield, their loss dropped their record down to 4-17.

Moorefield might still be hurting after the 15-2 defeat they got from Musselman in their previous meeting on Wednesday. Can the Yellow Jackets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
