Basketball Game Preview: Benson vs. West Central Area Knights

Benson hasn't had much luck against West Central Area recently, but that could start to change on Friday. Benson will be playing at home against the West Central Area Knights at 7:15 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

West Central Area is hoping to do what Lakeview couldn't on Saturday: put an end to Benson's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Benson secured a 61-57 W over Lakeview. While Benson didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Meanwhile, West Central Area came up short against Pelican Rapids on Saturday and fell 69-60. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 142nd, while the Vikings are ranked tenth).

Benson's victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.7 points per game. As for West Central Area, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
