Volleyball Recap: Arrupe Jesuit Victorious

On Friday, the Arrupe Jesuit Generals sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Rocky Mountain Prep SMART Ocelotls. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Generals.

Arrupe Jesuit took Rocky Mountain Prep SMART into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-18, 25-15, 25-27, 15-11.

Arrupe Jesuit's offense was headlined by Victor Minjarez and Juan Vargas Sifuente, who picked up six kills apiece. They got some help from Diego Hernandez and his seven assists. Vargas Sifuente and Hernandez didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with two apiece.

The victory got Arrupe Jesuit back to even at 2-2. As for Rocky Mountain Prep SMART, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Arrupe Jesuit will be playing at home against Kennedy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rocky Mountain Prep SMART, they are taking a road trip to face off against Canon City at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
