Basketball Recap: Red Lake Takes a Loss

Red Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat. They were beaten by the Kelliher/Northome Mustangs 101-16. Having soared to a lofty 58 points in the game before, the Warriors couldn't push the score so high this time.

Audrianna Lussier was Red Lake's leading scorer, having posted five points.

Kate Thayer continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Kelliher/Northome, dropping a double-double with 25 points and 13 steals. Thayer is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 48 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Kylee Binkley, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds.

Red Lake's loss dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Kelliher/Northome, their win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-3.

Red Lake has already played their next match, a 72-17 defeat against Blackduck on the 11th. As for Kelliher/Northome, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 99-48 victory against Pine River-Backus on the 11th.
