Basketball Recap: Shiloh Kimpson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Little Elm over Guyer

Little Elm lost against Guyer on January 3rd and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Little Elm Lobos fell just short of the Guyer Wildcats by a score of 44-42. While losing is never fun, the Lobos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while the Wildcats are ranked third).

Little Elm lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Shiloh Kimpson, who posted 16 points and five rebounds. Kimpson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Amina Diallo, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten boards.

Little Elm's loss dropped their record down to 8-22. As for Guyer, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 28-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Little Elm will face off against Marcus at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Little Elm has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests. As for Guyer, they will square off against Lewisville at 5:45 p.m. on Friday.
