The West Jessamine Colts will take on the Bryan Station Defenders at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. West Jessamine is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.

On Friday, West Jessamine didn't have quite enough to beat Pulaski County and fell 5-4. The defeat continues a trend for the Colts in their meetings with the Maroons: they've now lost six in a row.

Paige Hobgood made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. Kinsley Teater was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Bryan Station's offense. They fell just short of Taylor County by a score of 1-0 on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Defenders' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Bryan Station saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carrington Clark, who went 1-for-3 with one double. That double marked the first that Clark hit this season.

West Jessamine's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Bryan Station, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. West Jessamine hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .317. However, it's not like Bryan Station struggles in that department as they've averaged .323. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Everything went West Jessamine's way against Bryan Station in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as West Jessamine made off with a 12-2 victory. Will West Jessamine repeat their success, or does Bryan Station has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
