Volleyball Recap: Mt. Vernon Starts off Right with Win over Irene/Wakonda

Mt. Vernon had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the Irene/Wakonda Eagles by a score of 2-0.

While Mt. Vernon won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-17.

Irene/Wakonda's loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Mt. Vernon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Irene/Wakonda, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Wessington Springs on the 6th.
